So now I am officially 27 weeks along!! Of course, there are still things saying I have to wait yet ANOTHER week for third trimester, but I say, "Pish!". I think 27 weeks is plenty! Besides, if 13 weeks is second trimester, doesn't 26 (whether beginning or end) make sense for third? Really, now! Anyhow, I'm six months like it or not, so there! Baby has been pretty active lately, though he does have more and more liking for my ribs. That's okay, he's a good fellow and seems to stay head down and ROA most of the time, so a little rib action is alright and just makes me want to see him all the more! ;-) I'm afraid I'm dying with excitement, since we are hoping to put an offer in on that house on Saturday. I'm having a terrible time not re-decorating already in my head, and I've got ideas for my Teddy Bear's room despite telling myself not to think about it! It would be so cute.... I must focus on other things though! I don't know if we can even get the house! Even if they accept the offer, it could be months before we can get in with all the red tape involved in short sales!
Anyhow, I've put this off until Jimmy was almost home again, so I'll have to cut it short, but here is a picture I took a few days ago.... Baby is definitely growing!!!

So now I enter into the great debate, which has never mattered so much to me before-- does the third trimester start at the beginning, or the end of week 26? Am I, in fact, in the third trimester, or will I be starting it next Wednesday? Although most of me wants to already be there, I have this fear that the correct starting point is beginning of the 27th week. And why does this even make a difference? I suppose because I want to be in the home stretch, to be so close to being able to hold my little baby! 14 weeks left! I can't believe how fast it's gone already, and I'm sure the rest of the time will fly as well. I hope he looks like his Daddy... I just read this morning that his ears now appear completely developed! Which brings up the all-important question, will this, my first born, have ear-lobes or not? Jimmy does, so I'm sure our kids will be a mix. But if Baby-boo's ears are formed, he either already has them or he doesn't!!! How cute is that?! And here's one-- will he have a crooked little finger like his mother? I hope at least one of our kids gets that. :-) And if he does, I'll be watching his hotdogs to see if he likes them burnt or not, since the two seem to go together, lol!
The prenatal went really well on Sunday, and I'm soon to be moved to every other week! AND, every single week in December since the midwives are saying there is a definite possibility he'll be here early! They said that although it's extremely possible he won't be measuring big when he comes, they are definitely putting me on the homeopathic herb that they've had great success with in the past-- never had a Mom go over a couple hours in labor, though they always remained controlled and handleable. No crazy fast stuff. :-) They also said if he is big, all their mommas with big babies have just popped 'em out, so that sounds good. Either way, I'm not worried he'll be too big for me, God will take care of that. I'm just extremely curious! I've got half the people predicting an enormous kid, and half saying nah, he'll be around 7-8 lbs. Maybe I oughta take bets on it. :-)
I do love having him bigger, he is so fun to feel moving and kicking and having preferences and such! And a lady on a forum I'm on just had her baby at 29 weeks (they were expecting it...) so I get to see about what he looks like now! Just a few weeks off from where she is! I can't believe how thoroughly formed is is already! I'm ready for pregnancy to be over, but mostly because I kind of like turning over normally at night, and being able to get up off the floor in a reasonable manner, and not constantly doing dumb things like trying to store the milk in the cupboard and the crackers in the fridge. :-) But at the same time, I am so much enjoying just knowing he's there, and growing, and that he's my own little baby! I wouldn't trade this for anything!! And after that lady having her baby, I'm so glad he's still safe and snug-- God sure knew what he was doing when He made all this, THE single most advanced system for caring for pre-term babies, and it doesn't cost a dime! Okay... maybe if you add up the extra food I'm eating, but maybe we won't go there. ;-) Although I am fairly sure my button is going to go really soon here. Oh well... Who needs a button on the tum, anyhow, right? Lol! It's definitely threatening to leave...

Jimmy is supposed to be home soon, so I'll run. :-)

Baby has a new trick now of randomly working his way up till he's under his ribs. This has the advantage of moving him off my bladder, but then I get super bad indigestion wherein I have a hard time breathing and even loose the remains of my dinner. Not cool. :-) But most the time he's very good and stays low, and if I make sure to drink enough and have some milk before bed, it's been mostly okay. I love feeling him all over the place now, high as well as low, and the kicks and rolls come everywhere! He is definitely an active little baby!
I got some flannel and fleece at JoAnns this last week while it was on sale so I can make baby blankets. Somehow, that pile of fabric is so thrilling! Holding it and knowing it's blankets that will wrap my baby up and keep him warm, the fleece for him to snuggle in and everything... it's amazing! I'm not exactly sure where he is at right now...I'm 25 weeks today, which means normally he would be about 13.5 inches long and 1.5 lbs. But two weeks ago he was measuring 1.5 lbs and was about two weeks ahead of schedule! I don't know if he's still that far ahead, but assuming one week off, he's probably about 14", and not quite 2lbs. He should be putting on baby fat now on those skinny little bones of his, his lungs are developing, and his hearing is improving. I can tell that just by the way he reacts to the sound of Daddy's voice, which he loves! He is approximately the size of an English Hothouse Cucumber, I am told. :-) A little hard to picture, but okay...
Otherwise all has been progressing fairly steadily. We went house hunting and have a definite prospect, which I'm excited about! Trying not to get my hopes up too much, but the idea of having our own house by the time Baby comes has me excited despite myself!
